ConnectiCare Celebrates 35 Years of Calling Connecticut Home

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. --  This month marks 35 years since the first ConnectiCare health products were introduced. Today ConnectiCare is the state’s largest health plan by membership for individual buyers, including Medicare members, and for small employers.

Michael Wise, President and CEO of ConnectiCare, tells the story of how local doctors founded ConnectiCare with the shared commitment of making Connecticut a healthier place to live and work.

Throughout 2016, ConnectiCare will be commemorating its history – and revealing its future. Today ConnectiCare introduced a new logo that is simpler and modern, and that reflects the company’s purpose to make it easy for its members to get the care they need. The heart symbol above the “I” in ConnectiCare’s name continues to be a key element in the company’s identity because the heart represents the way our members report ConnectiCare makes them feel when they receive ConnectiCare’s services or use a ConnectiCare product.

While the world of health care has changed dramatically since 1981, nothing has changed in ConnectiCare’s commitment to improving health of the people of Connecticut. “We think of Connecticut as more than just a spot on the map. We think of it as more than just a state. We think of it as home. We’ve built the health plan we want for our neighbors, our families and ourselves. We celebrate 35 years of calling Connecticut home because we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” said Michael Wise, President and Chief Executive Officer of ConnectiCare. "What really sets us apart is our commitment."
