FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Forbes Magazine recently ranked Connecticut as the 33rd best state to do business.
Rankings were determined by each state's ranking in six categories: business costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, economic climate, growth prospects and quality of life.
Connecticut's lowest rankings were in business costs (no.47) and regulatory environment (no.39). The Nutmeg State excelled in quality of life, however, ranking second in the category, according to Forbes.
Virginia was the top rated state with top-five rankings in labor supply (no.2), regulatory environment (no.1), economic climate (no.5) and quality of life (no.4).
New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Rhode Island ranked 21, 32, 13 and 48, respectively.
