It is also this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer,” U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy said in spotlighting manufacturing companies, which provide 10 percent of the state’s jobs.

RK Manufacturing provides custom tooling and fixtures, and works with established medical companies and life science startups to provide sterile and nonsterile sutures, bone anchors, spinal implants, and other innovative medical devices. All of RK Manufacturing’s medical devices are produced in a specialized cleanroom with a controlled environment.

RK Manufacturing employs 120 Connecticut workers out of its 57,000-square-foot facility. Over the last six years, it has experienced an average continued growth of 30 percent, and increased the capacity of their cleanroom by 35 percent.

“Business at RK Manufacturing is booming because they make investing in their workers a priority,” said Murphy.

“Over the last 39 years RK has enjoyed the opportunity to work and grow in the Danbury area. It has allowed us to interact with the local public employment base, which is a great resource for the operator talent we require for our manufacturing of medical devises and to produce the standard of quality required for good GMP processes in the medical field,” said Richard Ponton, chief operations officer at RK Manufacturing. "We are a family-owned company and all of our employees are a very important part of our family culture."
