Wilton Joins Regional Planning Group's Meeting On Transportation Issues

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization will meet on Monday, Feb. 2, at 8:15 a.m. to discuss transportation and nontransportation policy, programs and projects that concern the region.

The agenda includes amendments to the 2015 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) as well as information items.

The meeting will be held at the Western Connecticut Council of Governments offices, 3rd Floor, Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.

The SWRMPO includes the chief elected officials of the South Western Region's eight towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton, and the directors of the region's transit districts.

As mandated by federal regulations, the SWRMPO is responsible for transportation policy development, planning, and programming of federal transportation funding for the region.
