The Market Bistro & Bar will track food and drink sales similar to the New York Stock Exchange and will use a computer algorithm which will allow customers to "day trade" drink and food items.
Owner Jason Petrini said his interactive program, which will feature cocktail prices much like the Nasdaq and Dow Jones, has been a year and a half in development and is nothing like folks have seen before. Prices will fluctuate according to what's selling -- and, if the economy "crashes," as it's want to do -- all drinks will go down to 25 cents, with a limited time to reach the bar and reorder.
This kind of promotion, he said, will encourage patrons to try new cocktails. Prices will never exceed their listed value.
There will also be plenty of happy hour specials.
Expect, too, a farm to table food focus, and, come September, the opening of an expansive rooftop bar.
For its opening weekend, The MKT will feature live music by Tangled Vine on Friday at 9:30 p.m. (doors open at 4 p.m. for Happy Hour) and Total Hacks at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29.
MKT is at 64 Wall St., (203) 246-6628, www.mktnorwalk.com.
