Wilton Library Seeks Children's Library Assistant

WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Library is seeking an energetic, creative individual to assist with collections, perform service desk duties, create and assist with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs, and promote materials and programs using social media.

Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Publisher and social media are required, as well as attention to detail and the ability to work well with other team members in a creative and vibrant environment. Applicants must also demonstrate an interest in reading children’s literature. 

An undergraduate degree in education is highly desirable.  Library knowledge and/or experience in working with children ages birth to 12 is required.  Science background or demonstrated aptitude for STEM programs is required. Artistic and/or creative skills are a plus.

The job is a part-time, hourly position. The schedule is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, plus the third Saturday of each month. Candidates must be flexible and able to fill in for other staff as necessary.
