The former managing director at Cambridge Associates will join Commonfund Capital's London office to focus on global private capital manager research, due diligence and investments, according to a press release.
Commonfund is an investment manager for institutional investors.
Schmitter will concentrate her efforts on current and prospective private capital managers within Europe and Africa and contribute to Commonfund Capital's investment teams focusing on other global private capital markets including Asia, according to a press release. She will report to Managing Director Mark C. Hoeing.

"She expands our global investment team's depth as we further build portfolios of primary funds, co-investments and targeted secondary investment opportunities for our clients. Schmitter said she was pleased to join the company.

Schmitter previously started with Cambridge in Boston in 2005. At Cambridge she was responsible for due diligence and research published by the firm on private equity funds which resulted in significant client commitments to private capital strategies, according to the release. She also supervised due diligence on investment opportunities and oversaw consultants and associates in the Boston, London and Singapore offices.
