James H. Ford, Jr., 80, Of Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. - James Henry Lee Ford, Jr. died March 10. He was 80.

Ford was born March 1, 1934, in Hollywood, Calif., to James Henry Lee Ford and Elizabeth Mary Cooke Ford. He was on the Nature Center Board in Westport. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1955 and started a career in sales marketing and management. He worked in real estate sales in Albuquerque, N.M., before locating to California to pursue a career in sales and marketing with Owens Corning Fiberglass, Inc.

While living in Westport he was recruited to an international marketing firm, Glendenning Associates. He joined several colleagues as one of the founding partners of Marketing Corporation of America (MCA) back in Westport. Post a career with MCA, he returned to his work in commercial real estate sales and development from which he retired in 2009.

Ford is survived by his wife, Pinkie; daughters, Kathryn Elizabeth (David W.) Carr, Maryellen (John Ross) Elliott and Maureen Lee (Andrew) Bates; six grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Mary Kujan. He was predeceased by his parents; and sons, James Henry Lee Ford, III and William Charles Ford.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14 at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Va. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. March 17 in Westport at St. Luke's Catholic Church.
