Cops Seek To I.D. Body Found in Norwalk Yard

NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk homeowner who thought there was a blue tarp in his yard Tuesday got a surprise when he went out hours later to take a closer look: It was a man's body, Norwalk Police say.

The man, who appeared to be in his 60s or 70s, was wearing blue clothing, Deputy Chief Thomas Kulhawik said. He had been lying for hours in the front yard at 15 Scott St. The death is considered suspicious, pending the result of an autopsy.

The homeowner recently had work done and thought a tarp had blown into the yard, Kulhawik said. The dead man was not wearing shoes and did not have a wallet, so there is no identification.

Police have checked the neighborhood, with no luck on identifying the man. They will send out a statewide bulletin.

"The sad thing is, if the person lived alone, no one would know that he was missing until he misses an appointment or something," Kulhawik said.
