It was a special event for both the 5th- and 7th-graders, as well as for retiring Police Chief Larry Minda, a 40-year law enforcement veteran who wore his dress uniform for the last time.

"What a blessing and a joy this has been," Minda told Daily Voice after this year's class' final drills at Henry P. Becton Regional High School.

Leading the class were Capt. Jeffrey Yannacone and Sgt. Daniel Perry -- both U.S. Marine veterans -- and Officers Kevin Felten and David Alberta.
