“After almost a year of planning, and with a capacity crowd of 280, it was worth every moment,” said Denise Cesareo, executive director at ElderHouse, a Norwalk-based nonprofit adult day center.

Showcasing their newly honed dancing skills at the event were ElderHouse’s seven star dancers – all high-profile business and community leaders who, along with their professional partners from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, generously gave of their time to prepare dance routines to be showcased at the benefit.

They included Sam Gault, owner of Gault Energy & Stone; Tony Aitoro, owner of Aitoro Appliance; Theresa Polley, president and chief executive officer at Financial Accounting Foundation; Tina Dragone, owner of Tina Dragone; Steve Simmons, partner and head of manager selection at Sideris Capital Partners; Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson; and Andrea Coreau, senior vice president at Fairfield County Bank.

“Our wonderful Star Dancers provided amazing entertainment and clearly displayed talents in the dance department they never knew they had. It was quite a show,” said Nancy Romberg of Fairfield County Bank who, along with Cesareo, was the mastermind behind the largest fundraising event of the year for ElderHouse.

Judges at the event were Walter Schalk of Wilton, Christine Titus of Wilton and Dottie DeLuca of Redding.

Steve Simmons won for best performance by a male, Tina Dragone for best performance by a female, Sam Gault for best friend to ElderHouse and Andrea Coreau received the people’s choice award.

Tony Aitoro, Jayme Stevenson and Terri Polley also showcased great performances. The event featured a live auction and paddle raise, all of which helped raise a record amount for ElderHouse.
