Weston First Selectwoman Gayle Weinstein, a board member of The Center, will share the evening with five of her Lower Fairfield County colleagues: First Selectman Rob Mallozzi of New Canaan, Mayor David Martin of Stamford, Mayor Harry Rilling of Norwalk, First Selectwoman Jayme Stevenson of Darien and First Selectman Peter Tesei of Greenwich.

“When I purchased my table, I realized I had a wonderful opportunity to invite the leaders from towns served by The Center to join me”, Weinstein said. “I can’t think of better role models to show that sexual assault is not simply a women’s issue.”

All proceeds from Gingerbread Houses & Cocktails for a Cause will go to The Center’s crisis counseling, advocacy, and education programs.

Serving the towns of Westport, Wilton, Weston, Darien, Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and New Canaan, The Center provides crisis counseling to over 450 people and prevention education to nearly 20,000 children and adults over the last year alone.

This holiday event has become such a favorite that The Center is doubling the fun with two events this year. In addition to the Dec 4 event, The Center is hosting a second evening on: Wednesday December 3, 7 pm, l’escale, Greenwich. Tickets are $125 per person.

Upon arrival, each guest receives a fully-assembled gingerbread house to decorate. While the holiday spirit fills the room during the cocktail reception, it isn’t long before the competition heats up as participants vie for one of the many recognition awards.

Everyone’s a winner, as each guest leaves with her beautiful gingerbread house, loads of cheer, and the knowledge that all of this fun makes a difference by supporting the programs of The Center.

The sponsors of Gingerbread Houses & Cocktails for a Cause are: Cobble Court Interiors, Juliska, Chunky Pam’s Sweet Shoppe, Michelle & Michael Diliberto, Kate & Bill Schubart, Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes, Unimin Corporation, Benefit Cosmetics, The Cooper Spirits Company, New England Wine & Spirits, The Southfield Center for Development, and Lexus of Greenwich.
