PEEKSKILL – A city man was arrested Friday evening in connection with an attempted robbery earlier this month.

Justin Rice, 20, of Peekskill, was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony, at police headquarters at 2 Nelson Ave. by Police Detective Todd Gallaher Rice.

Rice was involved in the burglary of a gas station located on Highland Avenue  in which he kicked in the glass door of the convenience store portion of the station during the late night hours of Aug. 1, police said. He was held without bail after his arraignment in city court.

Other arrests reported this week include Derrick Scott, 35, of Peekskill, who was arrested Monday at 1:50 a.m. and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, at the Stuhr Gardents Apartments by Police Officer Mary Greenan.
