Wilton to Remain Soggy the Next Few Days

WILTON, Conn. – Despite what Little Orphan Annie predicts, the sun won't come out in Wilton until Wednesday.

Although the raindrops stopped for an intermission around lunchtime Monday, the National Weather Service's Wilton forecast calls for rain and even thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Rainfall amounts could reach up to half an inch in Wilton.

As of midday Monday, motorists had seen few problems with the wet weather, said Wilton Police Lt. Donald Wakeman.

"There's been no accidents and no flooding calls," Wakeman said around noon. "Things are relatively quiet."

Quiet is not in the forecast for Tuesday, when the National Weather Service calls for more rain and possible thunderstorms. Sun is expected to return briefly on Wednesday before disappearing for the rest of the workweek.
