Ardsley Mayor Stresses to Call Con Ed for Outages

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- With so many trees down, there are power outages all across Westchester. Ardsley Mayor Jay Leon is urging any residents without power to call Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED.

Leon said in an email to residents that Con Ed prioritizes areas based on the number of calls in the area. He also said Con Edison cannot start removing trees and restoring power until winds are blowing below 40 mph, which might take until Monday morning.

In the email, Leon added that according to Con Ed, approximately 40,000 of its customers are without power in Westchester, with the biggest losses in Mount Kisco, New Castle and Mamaroneck. Leon stressed that all residents should stay off the roads as village workers and Con Ed work to clean the streets of all dangers and debris.
