Miskiewicz recently received the Living Our Values Award from Con Edison for "exemplifying the company's values of service, teamwork, excellence and community service," according to a press release. Miskiewicz’s late father George, her grandfather Martin, and uncle Tom all "had long careers with Con Edison," according to the release.

“For the past 44 years, Diane Miskiewicz has been a devoted, energetic and loyal employee of Con Edison,” said Robert Schimmenti, Con Edison’s vice president for Engineering and Planning. “She has helped thousands of customers resolve issues. That shows her passion and dedication to our customers and company.”

Miskiewicz, a Somers resident who works as a senior office assistant in Rye, was among six employees of Con Edison and Orange and Rockland Utilities Inc. chosen for the award.

Miskiewicz said she couldn't help but think of how her dad, grandfather and uncle would feel seeing her chosen, according to the release.

“I’m sure they’d be very happy,” she said. “Con Edison was their life. They loved to talk about the company and their jobs. Everything was Con Edison, Con Edison.”

Miskiewicz helps customers resolve claims they file with the company and works with numerous departments to make sure the claims are handled fairly and quickly, according to the release.

"Miskiewicz shows her dedication to Con Edison customers every minute she’s on the job – and sometimes even while she’s on vacation," representatives said. "Miskiewicz also contributes to her community when she’s not at work. For 30 years, she has helped raise money for Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne."

Christine Melovitz-Goh and Thomas Cuccia, who work in Construction Management Street Operations, nominated Miskiewicz for the award.

“She is honest, hardworking, compassionate and giving. Diane does not have a bad bone in her body and would give anyone the shirt off her back to help them. She gives so much of herself helping others and is an inspiration," the pair said in a letter, according to the release.
