  • Willie Upshaw will not return as field manager for the 2015 season for the Bridgeport Bluefish after a disappointing season. The Bluefish finished dead last in the Atlantic League with a woeful 47-93 record. That mark was the worst overall record in Bridgeport Bluefish history.
  • Liz Squillace of Bridgeport is among the artists featured in a new exhibit -- dubbed "Deja New" -- at the Maritime Garage Gallery in Norwalk designed to evoke memories of well-known vistas and personal spaces.
  • Jose Roque, 47, of Bridgeport, who has a violent criminal past, was sentenced on Wednesday, Oct. 1, to 15 years in prison after he was found guilty of possession of a firearm as a previously convicted felon.

  • Natalia Martins, 22, of Bridgeport, served up hot cups of Joe on her job at the Wilton Coffee Barn on National Coffee Day. 

  • Rich Hubbard, the webmaster at Bridgeport's Housatonic Community College, has found fame in her second job: He has developed more than 15 typographical fonts, including 10 based on people’s handwriting. One of his fonts -- Ruly -- is featured in a new children's book, "Daisy’s Reality Show Adventure."
