Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, an officer from the Ramapo Police Department observed a vehicle traveling west on Route 59 swerving back and forth and repeatedly crossing over the lane markings on the roadway.

During the subsequent traffic stop, police said it was determined that the 33-year-old Spring Valley resident - whose name was not disclosed - was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was arrested at the scene and transported to the Ramapo Police Station.

After being arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, the man was released on his own recognizance and issued a ticket to appear back in the Village of Airmont Justice Court later this year to answer the charge.
