Keith Hollar, 57, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his role in a wide-ranging drug trafficking operation in Mount Vernon and the Bronx, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., announced.

Hollar, along with 11 others, were charged in a 68-count indictment on charges of enterprise corruption, operating as a major trafficker, and possession of heroin and fentanyl in April last year. The men were taken into police custody following a wide-ranging drug sweep.

According to Scarpino, between Oct. 4, 2018, and March 22 last year, Hollar, of Mount Vernon, and a co-conspirator acted as directors of the “Daniels Controlled Substances Organization.”

The “Daniels Controlled Substances Organization was an illegal organization that sold heroin and fentanyl, Scarpino said. During the scheme, they collected more than $75,000 from selling those drugs.

The brand stamp on their drug packaging was a red smiley face logo.

As a lieutenant in the drug ring, Hollar was appointed interim leader after the “boss” fell ill, Scarpino said, noting Hollar had the authority to hire and fire members of the enterprise, supplied dealers with heroin and fentanyl and collected proceeds from the sales. He also sold heroin and fentanyl on the street.

After being busted, officers seized more than a kilogram of heroin, a half kilogram of cocaine, 6,000 bags of heroin with the enterprise’s stamped smiley face, $25,000 cash and a .38 caliber handgun.
