“Hey, us dancers can never get enough practice before the big event!” Sam Gault, owner of Gault Energy & Stone, said in a statement. “The Fred Astaire team dance competition was a fun event for all involved. It was impressive to see all the talented Fred Astaire instructors dance with their students.”

Gault took part in the show alongside fellow ElderHouse star dancers Tony Aitoro, owner of Aitoro Appliance; Theresa Polley, president and chief executive officer at Financial Accounting Foundation; and Tina Dragone, owner of Tina Dragone.

All four contestants were on their toes for the show, which saw hundreds of students and their professional Fred Astaire dance partners perform.

The idea behind the team match was to allow studio teams from all Fred Astaire studios in Greenwich, Ridgefield, Brookfield and Norwalk to compete for the top studio trophy.

The 2015 "Dancing with the Stars" gala benefit will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Inn at Longshore in Westport. Organizers hope the event will be the largest fundraiser of the year for ElderHouse.

ElderHouse’s star dancers are all high-profile business and community leaders who, along with their professional partners from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, are giving their time to prepare dance routines to be showcased at the benefit.

The lineup also includes Steve Simmons, partner and head of manager selection at Sideris Capital Partners; Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson; and Andrea Coreau, senior vice president at Fairfield County Bank. Funds from the event go to support the work of ElderHouse.

“As a conservative accountant, dancing in front of people is completely out of my comfort zone,” Polley said. "But Elder House provides such a critical service to our senior population that I’m willing to take that giant leap."

Norwalk-based ElderHouse, a not-for-profit adult day center, serves seniors in Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.
