WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Historical Society will celebrate the conclusion of The Second Annual Great Letterboxing History Hunt on Sunday, May 31, from 3 to 4 p.m.
All participants are invited to the event, which will be held at the Wilton Historical Society.
Letterboxers who stamp their Official Map at all seven locations will be entered in a drawing for and a Grand Prize – a genuine, American-made, 100 percent wool Pendleton Roll-Up Blanket. Perfect for families, the 60-inch by 70-inch blanket has a convenient carry handle, and is ready for any adventure, from roadside picnics to beach parties to letterboxing lunches al fresco. Don’t forget to bring your stamped map to the party.
All prizes will be awarded at this fun family event. There will be refreshments and live music with Leigh Richardson on acoustic guitar.
From the kickoff on Friday, May 15, to the conclusion on Sunday, May 31, letterboxers have been busy visiting seven local historical organizations as they follow clues, find letterboxes, and stamp their Official Maps.
The collaborating organizations are The Fairfield Museum and History Center; the New Canaan Historical Society; the Norwalk Historical Society; Ridgefield’s Keeler Tavern; the Weston Historical Society; the Westport Historical Society; and the Wilton Historical Society.
