Beginning, Saturday, Nov. 14, its monthly Accessibility Day will extend those hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“The original idea was for families to come during a quiet time period for the museum,” said Robert Townes, director of community advocacy for the museum. “Of course, if families arrived after that time we gave them free admission. Recently, many families have told us that they drive over an hour to come and play and learn together in a safe, friendly environment.”

Townes added that he is hopeful “the ‘official’ announcement of all-day free admission will encourage more families to come at their convenience and enjoy all our museum has to offer.”

Stepping Stones is located at 303 West Ave.

The museum is regularly open Tuesdays through Sundays and select holiday Mondays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is $15 for adults and children, and $10 for seniors. Kids under 1 get in for free.
