Broadway star Sutton Foster, who won Tony Awards for her performances in "Anything Goes" and "Thoroughly Modern Millie," will headline the "Shine a Light on Children’s Mental Health" benefit concert with a one-hour performance.

Weston High School students, along with theater and chorus groups representing local high schools and theater companies, will also perform at the benefit. Other schools taking part will include performers from Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, Broadway Bootcamp, Greens Farms Academy in Westport, Music Theatre of Connecticut, New Canaan High School, Staples High School in Westport, Weston High School, Wilton High School, and Wiremill Academy.

“This is going to be an incredible evening of musical theater and an opportunity to ‘shine a light’ on the children’s mental health crisis in our community,” said Metchick, who is producing the event in conjunction with the Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County.

“Thousands of children in our community rely on the Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County for treatment. The goal of this event is to enable the center to serve even more children who are in desperate need of the Center’s services,” said Cohen, co-producer of the event.

The Child Guidance Center offers mental health care to help children and families who live in Norwalk, Darien, New Canaan, Weston, Westport, Wilton, and Stamford.

“Even though we help over 2,000 children from Weston, Westport, and surrounding towns every year, many people in the community still do not know about the Center. We are the best kept secret in Fairfield County,” said Berger, vice president of the center’s board of trustees. “We’re deeply grateful to Andrea and Nancy for conceiving and producing a spectacular event that will grow community awareness of the children’s mental health crisis and also generate critical funding for the Center.”

The ‘Shine a Light on Children’s Mental Health’ benefit concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., with a VIP cocktail reception beginning at 6 p.m.
