WILTON, Conn. – Here are a few highlights of things to do in and around Wilton this weekend. See our Events Calendar for more items.
The Lounge at Wilton Library: 3:30 to 5 p.m. Children in Grade 1 and up are invited to play video games on the Wilton Library’s Nintendo Wii system. Comfortable seating will be available. Caregivers must remain in the building for children under age 12. The room will be open every Friday as long as there is available staff. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
Gone In 60 Seconds Book Club: 3 p.m. Is it possible to write and perform a 60-second version of a great book? Find out as we retell our own high-octane versions of the best in children’s literature. Participants will pick the most important scenes, characters and lines and then speed-read through the finished product. Will we beat the buzzer? Expect fast talk, quick thinking and lots of laughter. Once we’ve learned how to edit, analyze, compromise and communicate, we’ll use technology to create an animated mini-movie trailer of one of our 60-second extravaganzas. This month’s book is "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman. The club is for children in grades 4 to 6. Children under 12 must have a caregiver in the building. Sponsored by the Sherman Family Fund.
