Monday, Dec. 17 Reception for Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Carmelo Midili: 6 p.m. December brings Carmelo Midili to the Weir Farm artist in residency program. He has been using abandoned paintings on canvas to create sculptures. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
Wilton Board of Selectmen: 7:30 p.m. The Board of Selectmen will have a regular meeting. Wilton Town Hall, 238 Danbury Road.
Tuesday, Dec. 18
Tuesday Book Buzz at Wilton Library: 11 a.m. to noon. There will be a Book Buzz conversation moderated by one of Wilton Library’s reference librarians on the third Tuesday of each month. Participants are encouraged to come and chat about one of their most recent favorite reads or just listen to what others recommend. Registration suggested but not required. Wednesday, Dec. 19
Art Adventures at Wilton Library: 4 to 5 p.m. Each week, children in grades 3 to 5 will learn about an artist or artistic movement, then create our own art project inspired by it. Please wear appropriate clothing that may get dirty. Registration required. A $5 supply fee will be collected at the door. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
Thursday, Dec. 20
Great Trains Holiday Exhibit at Wilton Historical Society: Noon to 4 p.m. The Wilton Historical Society will have its Great Trains holiday exhibit. Come and see a variety of trains. The exhibit runs through Dec. 21. Tickets are free for historical society members and $10 for non-members. Wilton Historical Society, 224 Danbury Road.
Friday, Dec. 21
Wilton Library Holiday Book Sale: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The library’s holiday book sale in the gallery is a seasonal delight. Bargains can be found – most of the items are new or like-new condition, making a terrific opportunity for holiday gift-giving. Items include books, unopened CDs and DVDs, children’s books and a huge assortment of art books. As items are sold, new ones appear daily, thanks to the hard-working book sale volunteers, who always seem to have an unending supply of tantalizing offerings. All sales support the library.
