WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Library's 17th annual Ladies' Soirée will celebrate women of Wilton with a "Women in Film" theme on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Guests will walk the red carpet as they move through the receiving line for photo ops in the Photo Booth, where all manner of “selfies” and group shots will be captured after guests strike their best red carpet poses.

The event is a significant fundraiser for the library as the proceeds support the library’s programs, services and technology that the community has come to rely on, according to a release from the library.

The event will be catered by Marly’s Bar & Bistro and have contemporary piano accompaniment by Darren Litzie, who has performed at the event for many years.

There will also be silent auction items guests will be able to bid on.

Some of the items include a crafty ladies’ night out at the library using the Innovation Station, a private wine tasting class for 20, private yoga and tennis sessions, and professional photo sessions with some of Wilton’s top photographers.

Many of the auction items may be found on the library’s website at www.wiltonlibrary.org.

“This is such a wonderful event that women look forward to each fall," said Robin Axness, development director for the Wilton Library. "It gives them a chance to visit with each other, catch up on what’s been happening in each other’s lives and enjoy the beauty of the library on an autumn evening.”

If guests are not able to walk away with auction items, there will still be many opportunities to support the library, from prize giveaways to a wine pull.

Tickets are $55 per person and may be purchased online at www.wiltonlibrary.org, by visiting the library’s circulation desk or calling Suzanne Verrilli in the development office at 203-762-6321.

The event will be from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

There are a limited number of tickets, and guests are reminded that last year’s fundraiser sold out days before the event.

The Wilton Library is at 137 Old Ridgefield Road, Wilton.
