As Promised, Westport Library Still Open During Massive Renovations

WESTPORT, Conn. — Workers are toiling away on the Westport Library’s renovation project, as evidenced by the closed lower entrance and dumpsters around the Jesup Road site.

But library officials say they hope to keep the building open for patrons throughout the 18- to 21-month construction, which will add a 600-seat forum for large-scale events, a larger MakerSpace, more conference rooms and co-working spaces as well as a recording studio.

The Transformation Project is expected to cost $19.5 million, with the bulk of that coming from donations.
