The dream is real for Star 99.9’s Anna and Raven Show, which has posted a MoveOn.org petition to create “Trick or Treat Day” on the last Saturday of October, ensuring children don’t go door-knocking on a school night.

The DJs plan to deliver their petition, which has garnered more than 360 signatures, to the Connecticut State House and Governor Dan Malloy.

“The Anna and Raven Show from Star 99.9 understands the frustration of both parents and homeowners when trick or treating falls on a school night,” the petition reads. “Many love this tradition but when it lands on a day during the week, it becomes a burden for parents and homeowners alike.”

The petition notes that anyone who celebrates Oct. 31 as a religious holiday can continue with their annual traditions.

The petition is being shared across social media, winning cheers from some teachers and parents and jeers from those who are happy with the status quo.

“And as a teacher…I can tell you that we pray for Halloween to fall on a non-school night…” wrote one fan.

“While we are busy doing this, is it too much to ask for Super Bowl Monday?” wrote a detractor. “I’m sure it is one of the busiest call out of work days in the US.”
