Children ages 4 to 6 met at Ambler Farm to enjoy the theme-based stories and visit the rabbits.

"This is a partnership we started between Wilton Library and Ambler Farm several years ago," said Andrea Falkner, the children's librarian at the Wilton Library. "In the spring, we meet once a month to talk about some of the animals on the farm, and we pair that with some of the books from the library. It helps promote early literacy, and the kids have fun by getting to see some of the animals."

Response from the children and their families has been great, she said.

"The kids seem to love it," Falkner said. "We've had quite a few families here - we had around 30 last month, and we're always hoping we have more families come down."

Registration required here, but the event is free. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. The program will be run again on Wednesday, June 9, when the focus will be on chickens. Call 203-762-3950 Ext. 217 for details or visit www.wiltonlibrary.org
