The Center for Comfort Care and Healing offers a unique and welcome option in end of life care for patients in our area. Unexpected In So Many Ways
The 36,000-square-foot facility is nonprofit and family focused. It offers around-the-clock emotional, social, spiritual and family support in addition to best-in-class palliative care.
Its warm, home-like feel has been carefully considered. Twelve private suites each have French doors that open to balconies overlooking wooded acres, walking paths and gardens. The spa offers a hair salon and massage room. There is also a play scape and children’s rooms for young patients and visitors.
Families will feel at home as well. The Center offers a fully-equipped kitchen and dining room with professional chef, a chapel for quiet meditation and a library. The effect is one of peace and tranquility for spending meaningful time with loved ones approaching the end of life.
A Vision Realized
Cynthia E. Roy, CEO and president of Regional Hospice and Home Care calls the Center for Comfort Care and Healing “a journey that has been stressful, energizing, loving and worth every minute.” Roy adds, “A passing should be sacred. It should be honored. We are hospice workers. We are witnesses to this final sacred moment in someone's life. We are blessed and honored to help our patients and their families at this deeply personal time.”
Regional Hospice and Home Care will continue to provide in-home services and welcomes anyone interested to call (203) 702-7400 or visit regionalhospicect.org to learn more or schedule a tour. The Center is located off I-84, Exit 2A in Danbury.
