Alliance On Mental Illness Offers Family Support Group In Wilton

WILTON, Conn. -- The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Child and Adolescent Network (CAN) is a support group for parents of children with behavioral, emotional and mental health issues, that meets on the last Monday of the month in Wilton.

The next meetings are Sept. 28 and Oct. 26, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. 

They are held in the Gilbert & Bennett Cultural Center, 49 New St.

The meetings are free, confidential, safe and led by trained volunteer facilitators who themselves have had personal experience raising children with these concerns. 

They are a place to speak freely and be understood without embarrassment the fear of being judged or treated differently. 

Parents come from Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport, Wilton and other towns in the surrounding area.
