They say good things come in small packages, and that describes Morgan Denslow to a tee. The 14-year-old from Wilton stands less than 5 feet tall, but when she belted out Alicia Keys No One at Acoustic Wiltons performance on Saturday, Nov. 20, she seemed to be the biggest person in Wilton High Schools Little Theater.
Though she began performing only two years ago, when she appeared with Wiltons Childrens Theater, Morgan seems totally comfortable on stage. She said thats because she enjoys singing.
It just makes me feel so good to be on stage, Morgan said after her Nov. 20 performance.
The strength and beauty of Morgans voice were so apparent that Scott Weber, the founder of Acoustic Wilton, was able to notice even when it was mixed in with a band that seemed to be out of sync. Weber remembers walking the track during Relay for Life in May, waiting to perform with other members of Acoustic Wilton, when he heard a strong voice among the others.
Weber approached Morgan afterward and got her to rehearse with Acoustic Wilton for the Nov. 20 performance. Besides being strong, Morgans voice is also dynamic, and Weber allowed her to show off her range at the Little Theater by performing both a country-pop song as well as Keys No. 1 hit.
I really like all kinds of music, the young vocalist said.
