KDP:

Wreaths were placed on about 1,100 veterans graves in Darien's Spring Grove Cemetery, one of three designated State Veterans' Cemeteries in CT. Local groups including the DAR, Monuments and Ceremonies Commission volunteers, VFW Post #6933, Darien High School, Support Our Soldiers students and the local student hockey teams among others volunteered to sell wreaths sponsorships at $15. each.
Starting in October, volunteers manned tables collecting wreath sponsorships at several local spots. Many businesses and individuals contributed money to purchase the wreaths placed on the graves. This is a tribute to the veterans during the holiday season. The Worcester Wreath Co. placed wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery simultaneously with wreath ceremonies all over the world yesterday including Darien.
