WILTON, Conn. – A one-man performance of “A Christmas Carol,” featuring author Charles Dickens' great-great-grandson Gerald, will hit the stage at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Clune Center for the Arts in Wilton. The event benefits the Wilton Historical Society.

Growing up in Oxford, England, Gerald Dickens wasn't enamored of his lineage, saying in interviews that he avoided anything to do with Dickens like the plague" when he was younger. A friend persuaded him to perform a charity reading of "Carol" for its 150th anniversary in 1993, and he liked the experience enough to perform it worldwide ever since.

Dickens' stop in Wilton is part of his U.S. tour, which will see take him to over 40 cities in three months before December is through. In his one-man version of "Carol," he performs as 26 characters, with only a table, wing chair, and hat rack accompanying him on stage.

The Clune Center is located on the Wilton High School campus at 385 Danbury Road, Route 7, in Wilton.

All tickets are $15, and tickets are available online at www.historicalchristmasbarn.com .
