“You gotta stay calm,” Builter said with a laugh as he calmly picked up his prize. The newly crowned millionaire decided to take the lump sum option.
Builter told his best friend about his big win first. “He asked me ‘$3,000?’ I said, ‘Look again pal!’”
They have been best buds since they were 12 and plan on crossing items off together on their bucket list. One item on their list is a destination trip. “We’ll golf in Hawaii with the golf buddies,” he said.
After receiving his check, Builter told lottery officials, “That’s it, I’m set – I’ll stay [at work] till December.”
Happy to be retiring soon, Builter summed up his feelings on the big win. “It takes the pressure off. Just content—gives me a feeling of calm.”
For selling the winning ticket, Stop & Shop on 1790 Post Road in Westport will receive a $30,000 check from the CT Lottery.
