The event is presented by WEBE-108 and Norwalk Hospital.
The Kids Fest is an exposition designed for young families and includes entertainment, education and businesses catering to parents and children.
Norwalk Hospital will conduct blood pressure screenings, weight/height, "Ask the Doctor," and other surprises within its foot booth, a replica of the hospital itself. Physicians and hospital staff will talk with the children and their parents and familiarize youngsters with what to expect should they end up in the hospital.
Dietitians will discuss healthy eating for children and will also answer questions. Nurses from the hospital's Childbirth Center will assist with blood pressure screenings and provide information about health education programs available to children, adolescents and their parents.
Pediatricians, obstetricians and midwives, as well as other members of the medical staff, will be on hand to answer questions. Physician assistants will teach children about their bones, while providing information to parents about preventing osteoporosis.
Paramedics and EMTs will provide information on the Heimlich maneuver, phoning 9-1-1 in an emergency and preventing traumatic brain injury in children.
The ambulance will be available for tours. In addition, informational literature and giveaways will be distributed to children who visit the hospital booth.
The Wilton High School field house is at 395 Danbury Road/Route 7.
