Her blog, www.ConnecticutCountryHouse.com/ has been nominated for the 2016 Design Blogger's Hall of Fame for Best Overall Blog.
An accomplished furniture industry executive, Murphy left the world of corporate life in 2010 to create her own company that reflected more of her enduring passions. She said the new enterprise also allows her to share her love of country living and foster a lively community of like-minded people.
Part inspiration, part education, Connecticut Country House includes both a blog and the Nora Murphy Country House Style online magazine, both of which feature stunning photos and a casual style.
"When I first got word that Connecticut Country House was nominated for the 2016 Design Blogger’s Conference Hall of Fame Awards for Best Overall Blog, you could have knocked me over with a feather," said Murphy. "It's hard work but also my pleasure to share the joys of the Connecticut Country House lifestyle. To be recognized like this, it's just an incredible honor."
The role of the Hall of Fame is to recognize excellence in blogging and new media in the field of interior design. Each year, a new set of outstanding design blogs becomes eligible through an open, online nomination process leading up to the ultimate recognition as a Hall of Fame inductee.
The winners and runners-up are determined through a combination of ratings by a panel of judges and a public vote. The awards will be presented live and the inductees recognized during the 2016 Design Bloggers Conference at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta on Monday, March 7.
