Weston Chocolatier Braves The Shave For St. Baldrick's Westport Event

WESTON, Conn. -- Weston resident Aarti Khosla calls herself the "Procrastination Queen." But on Sunday, March 26 she'll join other brave souls for the St. Baldrick's event at the Westport YMCA --- and have her head shaved to raise money for childhood cancer.

Weston resident Aarti Khosla plans to brave the shave at the Westport St. Baldrick's event.

"Even though it's totally last minute, I've decided to be a shavee," said the owner of the Westport chocolate shop Le Rouge Handmade Chocolates & Cakes by Aarti.

"I lost my father to a brain tumor when I was 20 and ever since have wanted to do something to give back."

She said she's been meaning to participate in this cause for years but something always came in the way. So, when a friend recently posted that she was participating, it got her wondering when the event was. And, of course, it's this weekend!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

The event will be held at 14 Allen Raymond Lane in Westport from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Go HERE for Khosla's personal fundraising page or HERE for event details.

Khosla also has a "Give a Little Love" campaign going on at her store. Go HERE for earlier Daily Voice story.
