WILTON, Conn. You may notice a bright yellow and orange envelope in your mail soon. It will be from the Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps .
Its that time of the year, when the corps sends out its annual appeal for funding help. This is the 30th such funding request. The corps is raising money to equip its vehicles and because of the ongoing need for medical supplies and for state-mandated training for its volunteers.
Jim Voulgarakis, public relations manager for the corps, said the mailing goes out only once a year and is the group's only way of raising money.
The corps is nonprofit and receives no tax dollars to provide 18,000 hours of volunteer service to the community, including Hands-Only CPR training and training on the cardiac defibrillators found around town.
