After the freak October storm in 2011 wiped out Halloween and Superstorm Sandy wrecked Halloween the following year, a group of Wilton friends organized an event for their children and others to enjoy Halloween after all in those two years.
According to organizer, Artie DiRocco, there was a huge clamor to keep the new tradition alive.
"The event was so much fun for both the kids and their parents that there were dozens of requests to keep it going," he said.
Last year, the Trunk or Treat event was moved to the Trackside Teen Center and the Wilton train station parking lots for kids to collect treats in a safe place.
On Sunday, the new annual event will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. As part of this years’ festivities, Trackside will be decked out as a Haunted House from 4 to 6 p.m., complete with spooky music and hot cider.
The Pizza Truck Company and the Peachwave Truck will be onsite selling their wares as well.
The trick or treating event and more is open to people in the public of all ages to enjoy.
