Wilton Library Holds Series On Parables As Poetic Fiction

WILTON, Conn. -- Gerald Weiss will be at the Wilton Library through March and April to take a new look at the biblical parables as poetic fiction and provocative metaphors.

Participants will reread and listen to some of the most familiar parables from scripture from a literary standpoint. Weiss will examine the nature of parable, allegory and metaphor and review different kinds of parables with one or more parables being the focus of each week.

Weiss earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in classical languages from St. Louis University, pursued graduate studies in philosophy and theology at Innsbruck University in Austria and received his doctorate from Gregorian University in Rome. 

Weiss will be at the library from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 19, 26 and April 2. Packets will be available at the circulation desk one week before the first session begins.
