WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Library will host an exhibition/reception Monday, Aug. 26, for this month's artist-in-residence at Weir Farm National Historic Site.
Martha Burgess, who creates installation, sculpture, photographs and computer-based media, will meet with interested residents from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the library. Registration is suggested; go here to register.
Burgess' work is sometimes considered a reflection upon the process of observing, deciphering and subverting representations and meanings in a shifting, fluid culture.
The artist-in-residence program at Weir Farm National Historic Site selects artists to spend one month living and working at the park. To date, 150 artists from throughout the United States, as well as Tunisia, Germany, Australia, and India have participated in the program.
The library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road, Wilton. Call 203-762-3950 for more information. The event is co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library.
