Wilton Library Presents Two Hot & Cool Jazz Concerts In January

WILTON, Conn. – The Wilton Library is hosting two Hot & Cool: Jazz concerts this month.

Bucky Pizzarelli, John Cutrone and Jerry Bruno will perform on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 7:30 p.m.

The Grace Kelly Quarter returns to Wilton on Friday, Jan. 23, at 8 p.m.

Pizzarelli, a seven-string guitar player, has been in the music business for more than 60 years. He has performed with various artists, including Benny Goodman and the Tonight Show Band.

Bassist Bruno played with Frank Sinatra for many years, beginning in 1979 at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall. He has also worked with Tony Bennett, Tommy Dorsey and Steve Lawrence.

Percussionist Cutrone has appeared on albums ranging from jazz with Lou Stein to folk with Pete Seeger.

Kelly has performed more than 600 concerts as a band leader at venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. A DownBeat Critics Poll named her one of the 'Alto Saxophone Rising Stars,' the youngest ever to be named so. She recorded her first out of eight independently released CDs at age 12.

Her CDs will be available for purchase and signing at the reception.

Reservations are recommended and the suggested donation is $10 per person.

Pre-registrants are asked to arrive no later than 10 minutes before the concert to be guaranteed seating. Wait-listed and walk-ins will be accommodated after this time if space is available.

Both shows will take place at the Brubeck Room of The Wilton Library located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
