The theme this year is Tell Us What You Know! It will be held Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Students in grades 6 through 12 have been writing, editing, rewriting and rehearsing their poems for the two performances.
Each year I am blown away by the talent and dedication that these kids put into this program, and this years group is just as impressive as those who have come before them, said Susan Lauricella, the librarys Head of Teen Services.
A total of 35 students will perform their creations or those of other students with music and or dance accompaniment. The written poems and artworks will be available in a commemorative book published for the event and available for sale both nights. Each performance is followed by a reception.
Tickets are $5 per person and are for sale at the librarys circulation desk. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door the night of each performance, but the event has sold out quickly in previous years.
