Minks to Sinks, Wilton's biannual event that's part tent sale, part Woodstock and part treasure hunt, opens its spring run Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
"They'll be lining up at 5," said Maya Boreen, chair of the giant sale, which benefits the Family & Children's Agency. And with good reason: there are bargains galore, from brand new furniture to kids' toys and sports equipment on their third or fourth trip to the sales tents on Route 7. "We're the ultimate recycling operation," said Boreen. "People will buy something for their kids, then bring it back as they age out of it."
The sale will live up to its name "We've got some sinks, and some minks, so we're covered," said Boreen and its reputation as the place to find anything from a 50-cent brick-brack to a $1,000daybed. "My kids used to love it when they were little, because they could come and buy me something for a Mother's Day present cheaply," said Boreen.
The sale runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. (half-price bargain day), and Monday 9 a.m. to noon (half-price and fill a bag day). For further information check out the website .
