1,000 Power Customers Out In Wilton; Roads Reopening

WILTON, Conn. – Several Wilton roads that were closed following an overnight storm with heavy winds had been reopened by Thursday afternoon.

According to Capt. John Lynch of the Wilton Police Department, Pine Ridge Road as well as portions of Shadow Lane, Chestnut Hill and Cheese Spring roads were now open to traffic. A portion of Huckleberry Hill Road was considered passable.

Nine other roads, including portions of Deforest Road, Skunk Lane, Nod Hill Road and Olmstead Hill Road, remain closed because of downed trees and power lines. 
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, 1,011 Connecticut Light & Power customers in Wilton were without power, accounting for 13 percent of the town.
