Police arrested a second woman a week after the first woman was arrested and charged in a credit card theft that took place at Wiltons Stailista in May. Kristen Montanez, 29, of Lyme, was arrested Feb. 24 after she appeared in court on similar charges from another town.
Montanez was taken to Wilton Police headquarters to be processed and charged with credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy. She was held on $20,000 bond and appeared back in court Feb. 25.
Montanez and Melissa Trotter are charged with entering in Stailista in May and stealing the owners purse, wallet and credit cards. The two then used the credit cards in Wilton and other nearby towns, police say. Both women have been arrested in similar crimes in New Canaan, Darien and Greenwich, police say.
Wilton police were unable to give a total value the women had allegedly charged on the credit cards, but they said only $10 was charged in Wilton.
