WILTON, Conn. It will be a summer night to eat fine foods, drink fine wine under a lighted tent and gaze up at the stars. But it will also be a time to talk business.
A first-ever joint "Meet and Greet" event sponsored by the Wilton and Ridgefield Chambers of Commerce will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 20 under a tent at the Events Party and Tent Rentals showroom, 2 Main St., in the Georgetown section of Wilton.
The Wilton and Ridgefield chambers are hosting the Wilton Chamber's monthly networking event, "Business After Hours," outdoors in what planners call a "high-level, meet-and-greet opportunity for local business leaders to network with potential partners, colleagues and friends" in a relaxed setting.
"Chamber members and their guests can connect with each other, make valuable contacts, learn about new local business developments and meet industry peers," said Torie Clancy, executive director of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce.
Don Williams, owner of Events Party and Tents Rentals, said, "Given our Georgetown location, we thought it was a great time to join with the Wilton Chamber of Commerce and kick it off with a joint networking event which could benefit businesses in both communities.
"Summer is a perfect time to do something unique like this when we can set up a tent in front of our showroom and everyone can enjoy the evening outside with good food, wine, and company," said Williams.
Ancona's Market of Ridgefield will serve a selection of all-natural meat, while Vintage Fine Wines of Wilton will provide a selection of wines from its boutique collection. Beer and soft drinks will also be available.
Admission is $15 for members and their guests, and $20 for non-members. To attend, RSVP to either chamber office via email at info@wiltonchamber.com or mroth@ridgefieldchamber.org.
