Connecticut Receives $12.4M In Federal Emergency Preparedness Funding

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the State of Connecticut over $12 million in federal funding to enhance the capacity of state and local emergency responders to prepare for, prevent, respond to and recover from potential terrorist attacks, major natural disasters and other emergencies.

“At a time when our nation faces unprecedented challenges abroad, our local first responders and state security keep us secure here at home. Thanks to the support of FEMA, our first responders will have the resources they need to prepare for disasters and ensure the safety of our local communities,” said a statement from U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy and U.S. Reps. John Larson, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, Jim Himes and Elizabeth Esty.
