Norwalk saw a whopping 4.52 inches of rainfall during Wednesday's storm, while 3.8 inches fell on Stamford. Northern towns saw a little less, with 2.78 inches reported at Danbury Airport, according to the National Weather Service.
Coastal towns are also under a dense fog advisory until noon.
Thursday's temperatures will soar close to 70 degrees with some scattered showers and possible thunderstorms in the area. Some of the storms could produce more heavy rainfall, according to the forecast.
The rain will move out Thursday night, with a pleasant weekend expected with highs in the low to mid-60s.
